“So often people get so focused on the next thing and not holding people accountable.”
As of late there has been a movement in organizations of all sizes towards a mobile workforce, a remote workforce, due to everything from saving on commute time to being more accommodating to people with children. The move back to everyone being in the office, all of the time, is becoming a thing of the past for more and more companies who aren’t as concerned about keeping employees under a watchful eye. But, even if your organization may never move in the mobile or remote direction, a lot of the same key points can be taken from what we have learned and continue to learn from the mobile workforce.
On today’s edition of the Grow My Revenue podcast, I speak with David Kerr who is CEO at Octiv. Before joining Octiv, Kerr served as Vice President and General Manager of Groupon, and as General Manager of Ecommerce for Angie’s List, where he was responsible for driving revenue through ecommerce product solutions.
David and I talk about the biggest challenges in embracing a mobile workforce, change management and how we can help people embrace new technologies to get better at what they can actually do, and we’ll talk about how you can use technology to allow you to be more responsive and to get better results with your clients.
“I think if everybody’s not tied into some specific measurable targets,” he says. “it then is sometimes difficult to manage the performance (of employees) on that.”
